Thorlux Lighting is proud to sponsor Jordan and Cian Adams, also known as the FTD Brothers – two extraordinary young men undertaking a remarkable challenge to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Following the loss of their mother to early-onset Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) in 2016, both brothers have since been diagnosed as carriers of the faulty gene that causes the condition. FTD is an uncommon type of dementia affecting the front and sides of the brain, causing problems with language and behaviour. As it develops over time, patients will experience worsening physical and mental conditions. The prognosis for the Adams brothers, tragically, is that they will most likely become symptomatic in their early forties and lose their lives within a decade.

Faced with this, Jordan, 28, and Cian, 23, have devoted themselves to raising money for vital research, raising more than £30,000 in five years. Now, the brothers are preparing to embark on their most ambitious fundraising effort yet. Starting on September 1st, 2024, they will run from John O’Groats to Land’s End, covering 903 miles in 31 days.

The brothers were born and raised in Redditch, Worcestershire, where Thorlux is headquartered. Thorlux is proud to be the travel and accommodation sponsor for Jordan and Cian on their 31-day run, helping to ensure that every penny of sponsorship they raise goes to charity.
