Norfolk, United Kingdom
Lotus Cars Limited is a British automotive company headquartered in Hethel, Norfolk that manufactures sports cars and racing cars.
Work on the new Evija factory began in summer 2019. The interior has been fitted on three sides with gantries which frame the build stations. These have been designed and engineered to be sleek and unobtrusive, though robust enough to carry the necessary power, data and compressed air systems required for assembly. The result is a versatile and inspiring workspace that will see Lotus hand-build up to 130 examples of the Evija.
The space is illuminated using Solow-XLED and Zipline luminaires. The Solow XLED exemplifies the supreme efficiency that is expected of Thorlux luminaires providing up to 37,820 lumens and an efficiency of up to 165 luminaire lumens per circuit watt. Individual lenses fitted to each medium power LED, efficiently control the light providing excellent scheme uniformity and minimum glare.
The Zipline combines architectural impact, longevity and supreme efficiency providing the lighting designer with the perfect lighting solution for many building-wide applications. Extruded aluminium trunking is connected to a range of luminaire modules. These modules can be a combination of luminaire, emergency luminaire, spotlight and passive infra-red detector and are designed to snap into sockets located at regular intervals, ensuring a fast, flexible installation. With five power options, broad, narrow and double asymmetric light distributions and a variety of accessories the Zipline is a truly versatile lighting system.
