The end of the fluorescent lamp?
Posted on Monday, November 14, 2022
From 2023 changes to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (RoHS) will restrict sales of fluorescent lamps containing mercury, effectively banning all T5, T8 and compact fluorescents. The phased change will occur between February and August 2023 across the EU, with the UK widely expected to follow suit soon after. However, existing stocks from suppliers of these lamps will still be available until they are exhausted.
With this in mind, now is the time to make the switch to Thorlux energy-saving LED luminaires. When combined with the award-winning SmartScan wireless lighting management system, Thorlux luminaires can deliver energy savings exceeding 70% compared with conventional technology.
With flexible funding solutions from Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC, ranging from simple payment plans to more innovative solutions that include installation and maintenance, plus a five-year product warranty, and the recent rises in electricity prices dramatically increasing the running cost of lighting, there has never been a better time to switch to high-performance, energy-efficient LED luminaires from Thorlux.
